Senator McCain proposes to bomb Syria
Republican Sen. John McCain called on Monday for bombing the U.S. against the Syrian troops to protect cities and create safe havens for the Syrian opposition. "Let's be clear: this will require the United States to destroy the enemy air defenses, at least in part of the country."
McCain said the U.S. will suffer a "moral and strategic failure" if Syrian President Bashar Assad can stay in power. He believes that military action will force a negotiated political transition in Syria. "What the opposition groups in Syria need most urgently is a relief of the siege of Assad's troops, with tanks and artillery made in various cities where fighting still occur." McCain said the U.S. should lead the "international effort" to protect the rebellious Syrian cities, especially in the north. He said that with such support the Army Freedom of Syria, which includes defectors and opponents of the regular troops, supported more or less conspicuous in Turkey, may be organized with other armed groups and cities can receive humanitarian aid.
and you really agree with that?
